On this very versatile surface, the cover designers basically had a free hand. Studio Hochburg, based in Stuttgart (and whom we portrayed in the Showroom section of the June issue), tackled the task of creating a cover suitable for presentation of this core discipline in a very imaginative and sensitive way. From the many individual, carefully coordinated elements, what results is an amazing whole – the designer as a chemist, finding the right formula and developing it. “A corporate design is a complex construct of visual molecules all carefully attuned to each other. It is the formula for the visual identity of a brand which unfolds its very distinctive and unique effect through the complex interplay of the individual components, regardless of medium or format,” says Fabian Schmutzer, Managing Director and Creative Director of Hochburg, Stuttgart.
